A little update - dad has just finished 4 weeks of radiotherapy. He is weak and wobbly - speech is bad, balance is bad and strength is bad, but somehow we were expecting worse. He's glad it's over and he still has all his hair! We won't know for a few weeks if it's actually made any difference, but at least round one is done.

Happy to hear the treatment is over and sorry Bill and you, his family are going through this. I very much enjoyed this blog and I hope to hear from Bill himself on it soon. Wishing you all the best, thanks for the updates...

An announcement of wonderful news! Hopefully this is the major battle of this latest war...

Catherine,
Please give my best wishes to your dad, along with my hope for better days to come. I think of Bill and those around him every day. Thank you for the update.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you all. Hang in there!
That's great news and fingers crossed that things are turning for the better. Good wishes to you all.
I hope he recovers soon. I just started reading your blog. :(
Wishing you well Bill.
I spent a few days with Bill in 2008 in the Ypres area where Harry served (my Granddad had been futher down the line). Having always wanted to visit the trenches, I could not have wished for a better way. Strangely, in an emotional few days, the most moving thing for me was the perception of Bill's schoolkids of Harry's situation, in some of the notes he brought over. Wishing you well mate, and pride in having brought an ordinary guy's story to light.

So glad that's behind you, Bill...and on my birthday, no less. A celebration day, for sure. Hope you continue to improve. Your blog has inspired me.
Catherine,
Please pass to your Dad. First, that he has passed this chemo milestone and wish that's all he will have to do.
Second, he may have heard this sad news but his long-time friend, King George Tupou V, died 18 March at a hospital in Hong Kong. The Associated Press obituary may be found at: http://www.washingtonpost.com/local/obituaries/tongan-king-george-tupou-v-advocate-for-democratic-government-dies-at-63/2012/03/19/gIQAoz4yNS_story.html
I could email copies of the news articles if your Dad so desires.
All the best,
John Meier

Re John Meier's comment, pls forgive my reposting http://goggt.blogspot.co.uk/ for those who missed it. Lovely image of Bill . . . on stage and praying for rain ;-)
Hi Catherine, thanks very much for the updates. I keep an eye on Skype in case Bill is "online". Pete Bonsall was asking after Bill again ( we were all at Imperial together ) so I can update him with the latest. Keeping our fingers crossed. All the very best to you all, Peter, Munich
Hi!
Please, give Bill best regards from his czech translator!
Continue to hope all is going well. Shared story of this blog with a docent at the Seattle Museum of Flight last weekend -- he was so excited as they have several preserved aircraft from the war and a number of relevant exhibits. Your gift keeps on giving, Bill and Harry! Please let us know how you are doing....
Hi, Catherine and Bill and all.... still thinking of you.... give Bill our love.... and gratitude.
